Sewer line inspections along with oil tank sweeps have become some of the most popular add ons to a home inspection. This is mostly due to the cost of repair or replacement and not usually covered by your home insurance carrier.
The vast majority of sewer lines we inspect require some type of maintenance, repair or even replacement and this is usually due to the aging process and other factors. This is not uncommon, however it is not something you want to find out later. Performing this type of inspection will, at a minimum, prepare you for the expense to come, possibly reduce or eliminate the chances of an impending sewage backup and a sewage backup is not a situation any homeowner wants to find themselves in.
We see a wide variety of issues with sewer lines including, root intrusion, breaks, poor water flow, channeling, build up, blockages, etc. These issues need to be address so you do not have a sewage back up.
